Opened in August 2007, this cozy little Melbourne-esc bar has been kissed orange and dawns all the fruits you would expect from the Jagermeister forest… Tasty Jagermeister cocktails and other uniquely German treats! This is a bar to indulge the senses, playing cutting edge breaks, house and drum’n’bass with screen visuals to match your unique adventure… and don’t fear if Jagermeister, cocktails and Perth’s biggest bomb’s menu is not your thing, because you can still treat yourself to the truly unique boutique beers on offer exclusively within this bar.

Newport’s ‘Band Room’ walls are abundant with all famous touring acts that have graced its stage since 2001. This large dance floor space has been victim to the jumping and dancing feet of adoring fans of Australia’s best live acts as well as some special international guests. From USA’s ‘21 Days’ and UK’s 80’s favourites from ‘The Specials’ & ‘The Beat’, to ‘Jebadiah’, ‘Little Birdy’, ‘Sonic Animation’, “Eskimo Joe’ and even international Breaks/Drum’n’Bass Dj’s ‘Deekline’, ‘Sui Min’ and, ‘Salmonella Dub’…. And that’s only Sunday’s! Unlike most live venues, Newport’s stage configuration allows you a closeness to the entertainers which provides a unique and more intimate experience!

To bump up the tempo, the place to be scene is the famous Newport courtyard, with its trade mark retractable roof and live Foxtel big screens with superior surround sound, why wouldn't you feel like you are live at Colonial Stadium, MCG or Old Trafford watching the game! Even though the installation took place in late 2001, the moving roof still never ceases to amaze it’s on lookers. Once opened, the fresh cool breeze pours into the courtyard providing a brisk rejuvenation to all who reside there.

This is the place to catch all the promotional activity and meet your mates…. Or someone new! The lit mini orb bar fascia leads you to your next bar refreshment, and with an additional 8 new beer fonts ready to flow icy cold local, boutique and international beers, you won’t be leaving your sort-after spot in a hurry! ….Unless the live bands pumping from the adjoining ‘Band Room’ have lured you away!

The front bar is still the key place to visit from noon until late everyday of the week whilst treating yourself to the clean new colour schemes which have purposely and successfully simplified and stylized the mood. The main center piece is a slick newly constructed back bar display influential of the simplicity of current contemporary Sydney establishments, however, it’s appeal is in strong competition with the smooth textural sheen of Mable/stone front bar fascias and locally acquired pool table drop lights from one of Perth's most contemporary and exclusive art galleries.

The contrast of the historic jarrah front bar surrounds, juxtaposed with the modern, is best viewed from ‘The Lane’. Once looked upon as ‘the odd room out’, The Lane has now been transformed into the ultimate in relaxation and leisure! The 40 meter long installed chocolate bench seating is the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet chat, indulge in the newly introduced wine list, view any of the 4 uninterrupted Foxtel connected LCD tvs, or even a little smooch with your newly acquainted loved one! This is definitely the place to chill out in the fresh escape of the summer breeze flowing from the South Terrace French windows.

For those simply passing by enjoying alfresco Fremantle, the Newport Bottle Shop still prides itself on being a main hub of premium wine distribution to external dinners as well as possessing all popular spirits, beers, and alcoholic mixed drinks. Complimentary wine tasting is freely available most Friday and Saturday nights at 6.30pm hosted by WA’s wine makers, and staff. Impress your friends at dinner with your newly acquired expert knowledge!

Newport’s exclusive ‘functions only’ space, this elite room is located on our upper level, this informal and relaxed funky room must be accompanied by a Newport employed security person who monitors the well being and safety of you and your guests as well as checking off an exclusive door list supplied by you.

Feel free to decorate your room for that personalised touch, however, it is not essential. 

Bookings: It is recommended that you book this room approx 2-3 months in advance to absolutely secure your specific date, however, there are occasional spots available for those ‘last minute’ bookings.

Your own food catering can be kept on stand by in our cooling facility any time from 12 noon until you are ready to present it.
